Choose the question first
A daily check answers whether alerts need attention now. A monthly review can reveal repeated symptoms or unused monitors. A renewal review asks whether the paid capability still supports an actual responsibility. These are different questions, so do not force them into one report. Write the decision above the numbers: change a recipient, investigate a recurring path, or retain the present setup.
Keep periods comparable
Compare periods with the same monitored addresses, check type and similar configuration where possible. If you changed the interval, added regions or replaced a keyword, record that change alongside the results. A different failure count may reflect different observation rather than a changed website. State the time zone and the start and end boundaries, especially when a supplier report uses another reporting convention.
Read incidents before averages
Averages can hide the event that mattered most to customers. Inspect the affected path, duration and response history of meaningful incidents instead of relying only on a reassuring summary. Distinguish an isolated slow response from a persistent problem. UptimeRobot’s response-time view concerns the checked endpoint; it is not a substitute for browser experience measures or a complete diagnosis of what caused the delay.
Make one proportionate decision
At the end of the review, choose a specific action or explicitly retain the current settings. For example, assign a backup recipient after an unanswered alert, rather than buying more checks without addressing ownership. Save the evidence that led to the choice and its review date. If no meaningful incident or configuration change occurred, keeping a suitable arrangement is a legitimate outcome rather than a failure to optimize. Note configuration changes beside the relevant comparison period.
