StatusCake's Free card shows a single login for personal use, 3 uptime monitors, 15-minute test intervals and HTTP(S) tests only. It marks SMS and integration alerting, domain, page speed, SSL and server monitoring, and reporting as not included. Its pricing page also holds a hidden section that lists larger free limits than the visible card, so we quote the card.
Superior is $24.49 a month, billed monthly, or $20.41 a month, billed annually ($244.92 billed yearly). It adds 100 uptime monitors at 1-minute tests, 50 SSL and 50 domain monitors, 75 SMS credits and 2 team members. Business is $79.99 a month, billed monthly, or $66.66 a month, billed annually, with 300 monitors at 30 seconds, 400 SMS credits and up to 10 team members. StatusCake offers a 7-day free trial that asks for no credit card.
Free StatusCake alternatives with more monitors
UptimeRobot counts a monitor as one tracked endpoint: a URL, host, port, keyword check or cron job. Its Free plan allows 50 of them, checked every 5 minutes. HetrixTools allows 15 checked every minute, Pulsetic 10 every 5 minutes, and Better Stack 10 monitors and heartbeats (check-ins from scheduled jobs) at 3-minute checks, per its Uptime page.
StatusCake offers a 7-day trial; UptimeRobot instead has a Free plan of 50 monitors that, it says, needs no credit card. On SSL, HetrixTools includes SSL and domain expiry checks on every plan, while StatusCake's visible Free card and UptimeRobot's Free plan do not.
HetrixTools, Pulsetic and UptimeRobot say they send email alerts on their free plans; StatusCake's visible card marks SMS and integration alerting as not included and does not say whether email is included. Best free uptime monitoring tools sets all six free plans side by side.
Open-source StatusCake alternative: Uptime Kuma
Uptime Kuma is free, MIT-licensed and self-hosted, with 20-second intervals. It has no software fee but is not free of cost: you provide the server, run Docker or Node.js 20.4 or later, and update it yourself. Help comes from GitHub Issues and Reddit, and the project offers no hosted plan.
When StatusCake Superior is still worth paying for
Superior is worth paying for when you need many SSL and domain checks: 50 of each for $24.49 a month, billed monthly.
At 100 monitors, UptimeRobot's Team plan is $46 a month, billed monthly, with checks as short as 30 seconds, 3 login seats and webhook, Zapier and PagerDuty integrations. UptimeRobot's SSL and domain-expiry reminders are paid features on Solo, Team and Scale. Its Solo plan lists 60-second checks, SSL and DNS monitors, 3 status pages on your own domain and 12 months of data retention.
